From Playa Vista to Pac-12: Liya Nartey Commits to California Women’s Soccer

The ConNEXTions Foundation is proud to spotlight one of our rising stars—Liya Nartey, a gifted student-athlete who has officially committed to the University of California, Berkeley to play for their prestigious women’s soccer program.

Liya’s journey is one of relentless hard work, unmatched discipline, and unwavering belief. A standout Center Forward and Attacking Midfielder, Liya hails from Playa Vista, California and has been a force on the field for Beach FC 2009 ECNL while also balancing academics at Da Vinci Connect High School.

Her style of play is defined by speed, sharp decision-making, and the ability to break down defenses—skills that have made her a constant threat in the final third and a key contributor on every team she's played for. But beyond her athletic ability, what makes Liya exceptional is her leadership, humility, and determination to make an impact both in the game and in her community.

This commitment to Cal Berkeley is more than a personal victory—it’s a symbol of what’s possible when talent meets opportunity and support. Through ConNEXTions Foundation’s mentorship and development programs, Liya has not only sharpened her skills but also gained the confidence and resources needed to thrive at the next level.

“Liya represents everything we stand for at ConNEXTions—excellence, opportunity, and vision,” said Mike Ross, Founder & CEO of ConNEXTions Foundation. “We’re beyond proud to witness her take this next step and can’t wait to watch her continue to grow and lead.”

As she prepares to wear the blue and gold of the Golden Bears, Liya joins a long legacy of elite student-athletes who balance top-tier athletics with world-class academics. Her story will continue to inspire young athletes everywhere—especially those looking to forge their own path through hard work and support.

Let’s all celebrate this incredible milestone with Liya and her family. The best is yet to come!
