Richard is the Chairman and Founder of the Family First Foundation, a 25+ year nonprofit promoting college and higher learning within the AT risk communities in Southern California with a proven track record of creating academic all-stars out of at-risk students. It’s often said they may be one of the most impactful nonprofits you’ve never heard of… until now.

Professionally, Richard brings a strong private-sector backbone, with experience across start-ups, mid-size and Fortune 500 companies including DirecTV and AT&T, others a combination of operational discipline and entrepreneurial instinct that shows up in everything he builds.

That work has since evolved into the founding of the Artificial Intelligence Institute, built by Dr. Richard Knight and their team—focused on teaching elementary students how to correctly use AI at the exact moment they’re already engaging with it. Their work is pioneering what’s known as cognitive offloading—ensuring students use AI responsibly and creatively, without allowing it to replace their own thinking.

Jason Bergman

Jason Bergman is a Los Angeles based real estate advisor with The Agency, specializing in residential real estate, investment strategy, multifamily properties, and redevelopment opportunities across Los Angeles.

Jason began his real estate career at Marcus & Millichap, with a focus on multifamily investment sales and analysis. That experience gave him a strong foundation in income producing property, valuation, underwriting, and the financial fundamentals of real estate. Today, his advisory led practice brings that investment perspective to residential real estate, multifamily properties, and redevelopment, with a broader interest in the forces shaping Los Angeles, including housing supply and affordability, development, neighborhood evolution, and public policy.

Melissa is the managing attorney at Balocca Law, where she specializes in corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and general commercial transactions. Prior to her current role, Melissa served as an honors extern with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as a corporate associate at K&L Gates LLP.

Melissa also serves as the Los Angeles County Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the 4th District, as well as a Los Angeles County 'Measure A' Advisory Board Member.

Melissa received her juris doctorate from UC Berkeley School of Law and her bachelor's degree from UCLA.

Basketball: National Player Development & Recruitment

Monty Buckley

Monty Buckley is a highly regarded former basketball player, coach, trainer, and mentor. Buckley was born and raised in Sacramento California, where he attended Christian Brothers High school. He was heavily recruited by colleges all over the country, but ultimately, he decided to stay close to home so that his mother and grandparents would be able to see him play. Buckley attended The University of California, Berkley where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. It was also there that he was part of basketball history- Cal beat Duke in the second round of the NCAA Sweet 16 Tournament—a game that is still discussed today. During his time at Cal, he built lifelong bonds with his teammates. After college, he played professionally overseas in Taiwan, Italy, Philippines, London, CBA, and Venezuela. He later went on to coach in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks, under Head Coach Jason Kidd, his lifelong friend and former teammate from Cal.

When he retired from professional basketball, he dedicated his time and energy to coaching different AAU teams and developing players. Coach Buck, as he is commonly referred to, is known to give his time and knowledge to anyone willing to put in the work to get better. He has made it his life’s mission to develop the next generation of players. He is known to focus heavily on the fundamentals of the game and strives to teach kids the correct way to play. Buckley shares his journey with the youth that he works with and expresses the importance of education. He acknowledges that basketball is how he was able to attend Berkley and receive a free education, as well as open doors for him professionally. His mission has led Buckley to help the at-risk youth achieve their goals and become productive members of society. He creates a safe space for the kids to come and learn the game, receive tutoring, as well as help with housing, nutrition, and anything else they may need.

Evan N. Press

Evan is a seasoned financial consultant with over 20 years of experience, specializing in wealth management, retirement planning, and risk management for individuals, schools, non-profits, and businesses. He is a long-time MDRT qualifier and has received multiple industry awards for his excellence. Evan holds certifications including CFP®, RICP®, and is licensed in California for life and health insurance. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 66, and 24 registrations.

Laura M. Wilde is a Holistic Mental Performance Coach and served as the mental performance coach for the LA Clippers for three seasons. She speaks and consults for the NBA and other elite Organizations.

A thought leader in mental performance, Laura blends epigenetics energy medicine with quantum physics to help her clients reach peak performance and play their best games.

After her struggles with depression, angst, and not feeling like a successful athlete and coach she knew she could be, she was determined to unravel the mind fog and find the solution for greatness. From that search, she created her proprietary zone solution formula, which helps athletes and artists alike reach the peak state so they can perform in the zone and be happier and healthier. Wilde works with NCAA, WNBA, NBA, NFL, and MLB athletes, staff and coaches, and corporate CEOs and GMs.Her clients and past clients include NBA Champions, Super Bowl Champions, WNBA Champions, and Unicorn (billion-dollar company) CEOs.
